Le Mezzane: A few kilometres from Lucca..
From Lucca take the via per Camaiore (the Camaiore road) and follow the road signs for San Martino in Freddana, Loppeglia and Fiano. Continue along the provincial road SP32 in the direction of Pescaglia and Pascoso. Once you reach Pascoso the road starts to climb for Monte Matanna. Go straight on, go past a bell tower which is on your left side of the road in a locality colled “Bucino”. Then you go past an iron gate and start to descend for about 150 metres where you reach a small pine wood. Leave your car here. You can now make out the farmhouse just in front of you! Welcome to Le Mezzane!
